Working on a very exciting new GEEKWARE project till the early hours of the morning most nights. Will tell you more in a few weeks....

In the meanwhile, here's a look at some new GEEKWARE photos! The model is Mr Geekware. We'd been gardening all weekend which is why his nails are all dirty in the key photo!! (might have to photoshop out the dirt).

Would anyone like to see our mammoth gardening project? It's what's kept us busy for the last month... and it's still not finished! *note to self: it'll be worth it when it's done*

In with the new for Spring

It was great to meet so many new faces at the Royal Bison Show last weekend.

I've had a bit of a break from blogging lately. We have been Xeroscaping our yard, and I've been working on new products for a photoshoot for the new website. The shoot went great, and I can't wait for the 2nd shoot when we will be using models! Exciting stuff is happing in the world of GEEKWARE so stay tuned!!

Bathtub pond

What a great way to recycle an old bathtub! When we renovate our bathroom I'd like to do this with our old tub.

Does anyone know how bathtubs are currently disposed of or recycled? Are the considered C+D waste and landfilled?

We've been doing lots of home projects and I really get carried away looking at before and after pictures like John Peters 1950's home reno on Flickr.

Laziest Guitarist Ever

Thanks for all your concerned e-mails wondering where I've been!

I have not been MIA since arriving back from vacation - I've been obsessively playing Rock Band!!

How cool is Rock Star?! It's like the 2008 version of DDR (heck, we even had the dance mats in our apartment back in 1998. I feel bad for the people who lived below us.)

Blog-love for Kitt

I'm dog-sitting! And I've completely fallen in love with Kitt. He looks sooo sad when I go out, that I end up taking him all over the place, including:

- the car wash yesterday (seemed a bit confused by the process)

- the Reuse Centre yesterday (got fussed by everyone there!)

- to a school that was getting rid of all their old keyboard today (wondered what I was doing)

His favourite thing to do is roll on his back in the snow, eat snow, or bury his head under the snow!!

He loves playing with Nellie's Dryer Balls, which are fantastic because he chews them for ages and can't puncture or damage them (yet).

He also sleeps for AGES. Is that normal?

Organising Diskettes

I love organising my supplies. I think I just love organising things in general. This week I have gone through all my boxes of diskettes, and sorted them by colour.... it's diskette heaven!

I love how all the different shades of diskettes look, especially the translucent ones next to the solid colour ones, and how there are so any shades of blue diskettes.

However, the cats we're looking after are not helping at all, and keep knocking over my diskette towers!!

This is how it started:


Riley thought he wanted in on the diskette action, but soon fell asleep behind the curtain.

while he was sleeping, the diskette towers grew...

higher and higher around him...

well you can just image how it ended *sigh*. Diskettes ALL over the floor!!!

What's on my Christmas List?

I really like these mini-clipboards by Debby Arem of Maryland USA. They are the perfect size for post-it notes or small to-do lists and they are even magnetic to stick on my fridge!

Another Debby Arem creation - circuitboard mousepads! I think this would look great next to my computer :)

Solar-powered garden light set. 10 hours of LED light, no wires to fuss with, and stainless steel - what more would I ask for? I hope someone buys me these slick lights for the front yard (hint hint dad...)

Boxes Boxes Everywhere

Sorry for the lack of blogging the this week - I thought you might like to see what's keeping me busy!

So many parcels of Geekware to mail, I think I'll have to drive to the Post Office this afternoon! I normally walk over and drop off everything by hand, but I don't think I can carry this many boxes....

Boo! Decorating the Yard

A little something for the kids in our neighbourhood to enjoy.

The big grave markers are just old kitchen drawers that I painted grey and added a quick design to in white paint.

Can't wait to see how many kids come visit on Halloween!

Wine Cork Garden

Ever wondered how to use corks left from all those crazy house parties?

You could make a cork board but that takes way too long.... it's much easier to just toss them in your cork garden! This is the first 'feature' we added to the garden, having only discovered when the snow melted in Spring that we just have a boring lawn out back.

May 2007 - marking out where the garden will be

June 2007 - the sod has been removed and 3 zucchini
plants are sprouting up amongst the cork mulch

July 2007 - more zucchini than we can possibly eat!

We're thinking of removing all the sod in our front yard and using wine corks as the mulch there too. That should get the elderly neighbours talking..... :) [they've not seen anything yet - wait till Halloween, they are in for a surprise!]
