Mac pack

A Mac Backpack made from an old macintosh SE computer c. 1988. Ok, so I think this is just a little toooo geeky even for me, but if you want to make one you can follow the tutorial over on Instructables.

Mac Toilet Paper Dispenser

I'm not sure what this small rectangular mac item was in it's past life, but it has been modded into a toilet paper dispenser. Nice and modern looking - I like it! Link

Mac Mod: A real Banana Junior

Who remembers the Banana Jr. 6000 from 1980's comic strip 'Bloom County'?

It was a parody of the early Macintosh computer and fritzgutten has made a real Banana Junior from an old Mac Classic!

The comic strip computer inexplicably came with legs could walk and talk, contemplated its existence, but could not stray further than the length of its electrical cord.

A Sunday strip featured this parody advertisement with Gene Simmons.

DIY Paper Macintosh Classic

Do you miss your 'compact' Macintosh Classic from 1990? With it's $1000 price tag, and 1-4MB ram?
Why not make your own paper version, which can sit quietly on your desk and bring back happy memories of times long ago, before iphones and imacs and ipods were invented....
Heck, it's Friday afternoon people! Get your scissors out and print the pdf, it'll speed up home-time :)

Vintage Mac Monitor Bird Houses

If the CD Jewel Case bird house isn't your thing, how about one made from an old Mac monitor?
Rex Harris, a farm owner in New South Wales uses the plastic shells of vintage Macs as birdhouses, mounting them on poles throughout his farm. "The old Macs are perfect for nesting boxes with ventilation slots along the front, rear, and under the hand space where you lift them"

Mac-Girl-Set

Been working on some Mac keyboard creations today for a local customer. The brief was "Anything you think she'd like that is MAC-related, here's my credit card #". (I love orders like this where I can be really creative!)

I got inspired to try a new style of necklace for this order. Took a bit of trial and error, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out, and I got to test out some new stainless steel necklaces too.

Paired with MAC-earrings and a return key keychain, I'm offering 2 additional sets of these for any other MAC fans out there.

I'll try and make more MAC-ware along these lines in the new year too.

Apple IIe

Look what I found! Very excited about this - I've never seen an Apple IIe before!
I'll clean it up tomorrow and decide what to make with it. Maybe cufflinks from the apple keys? Any ideas for the apple logo in the last picture?
According to this site, the Apple IIe was released in January 1983 and it came with........ wait for it....... 64 KB RAM *snicker*

Mac Pins, Mac Pride

Mac users have been showing how passionate they are about their allegiance to Apple by scooping up these Mac pins as fast as I am able to make them!

I was able to salvage about 20 more Mac keyboard recently, and after much cleaning and removing pen marks and ikky muck, I've made them into Mac pins this morning.

But, it's not easy finding old Mac keyboards - I find a ratio of 1:10 Mac:Windows keyboards, so it's always quite exciting to actually get a Mac keyboard.

I made 24 Mac keys today but someone in Austria just bought 4, so I'm down to 20 now. And that'll be it, I won't be out scavenging keyboards again until Spring, once the snow has melted and it's not freezing cold here!

Mac-O-Lanterns

I know Halloween was a few days ago and all the pumpkins are smashed now, but I couldn't resist posting this !!
Isn't it a brilliantly clever use of a Classic Mac?!!!

For Halloween next year I'd like to make a computer graveyard in our front yard, instead of the 'normal' graveyard we made. You know, with old keyboards sticking out of the ground. That would be fun.
